The demand for electricity supply is rising unusually in the state of Telangana. A local newspaper stated that the state's daily electricity supply surpassed 300 million units in the last week. In the Greater hyderabad area, the amount of power consumed in march of this year has risen by an astounding thirty percent. The average electricity usage within the ghmc limitations for this month is 69.31 mu, down from 58.75 mu in march 2023.
 

According to the study, on march 8, the transmission had its biggest intraday peak load and day energy consumption ever, measuring 15,623 megawatts and 305,19 million units, respectively. The state's electricity consumption was close to 300 MW last week. In comparison to the same period last year, when it was 289.73, the electricity usage on march 12 was 305.43 mu.
 

In a similar vein, the electricity demand on march 13 was 308.08 mu as opposed to 292.62 mu the previous year. According to the study, even on march 14 and 15, the electricity demand was 308.54 mu and 307.35 mu, respectively.
 

“This year, the early onset of summer contributed to the demand increasing from 15,110 MW on march 1 to 15,403 MW on march 6. Last year during march, the power demand varied from 14,527 MW on march 1 to 14,830 MW on march 6, the officials added. Even between march 11 and 15, the power demand in the state was over 15,000 MW.”

In the meanwhile, increasing temperatures are being blamed by the electricity department for the excessive usage in residential and commercial locations.
 
The authorities stated, "Once the harvesting season begins, the power consumption is likely to further increase."
 
The authorities went on to say that power distribution firms were using excellent management to supply the whole electricity demand, even with the spike in demand.
 
"The state has more than enough electricity available for supply. Discoms are prepared to handle daily demand of up to 16,000 MW, according to an official.
