It's that time of year again, when the long, frigid winter finally ends and spring arrives. In India, the harvest season has begun as well. Many customs are observed around the nation to commemorate the New Year. West Bengalis celebrate Poila Boishak, maharashtra celebrates Gudi Padwa, and people in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and karnataka celebrate Ugadi, sometimes known as Yugadi. A unique celebration, Ugadi is observed in several regions of South India. It is thought that on this particular day, Lord Brahma created the universe.

The sixty-year cycle known as Samvatsara begins on this day. people consume neem leaves and take an oil bath to mark the day. One important dish to prepare for Ugadi celebrations is mango pachadi. It must be taken on the auspicious day of Yugadi and is cooked using unripe mangoes. The dish's taste—which combines sweet, salty, and sour—is a metaphor for life's complexity and what the coming year holds. Components: 1 raw mango, sliced into 1-inch segments

One cup of coconut scraped

two tsp of mustard seeds

Two green chilies

One cup of yogurt

To savor salt

A small amount of sugar

Method: First, boil the mango in one cup of water and set it aside. Next, use enough water to crush the coconut, green chilies, and mustard seeds into a fine paste. Place the fine paste and the boiled mangoes in a skillet and bring to a boil, about 1 minute. After lowering the heat, stir in the yoghurt and continue cooking until everything is well combined. Turn off the heat source, then stir in the sugar and salt.
