Good Friday: Will schools, banks, and stock markets remain open?

The month of april brings various important festivals and holidays for the people of India. In that order, Good friday, which falls on april 18, 2025, is an important day. This day is celebrated as a holy day for the Christian community to remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. School, college Holiday: Generally, schools and colleges will be closed on Good Friday. But this may vary depending on the state government announcement. It may be a restricted holiday in some states only. Therefore, students and parents should check the list of holidays at their school.
Will banks be closed?: Banks in many states of india will be closed on april 18. In particular, bank branches will not function in the states of Tripura, Assam, Jammu, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar. However, customers can use Internet Banking, SMS Banking, and whatsapp Banking services as usual.

Stock Market Holiday: The bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed on april 18. That is, no stock market trading will take place on this day. Investors and traders will not have the opportunity to trade. Due to this, investors should plan their trading plans in advance.

 Dry Day: The delhi government has declared Good friday, april 18, as a Dry Day. According to this, the sale of liquor in places including liquor shops, pubs, and restaurants has been banned. On that day, all government-licensed liquor shops will be closed. This may be implemented not only in delhi but also in other states. Also, liquor shops are expected to be closed in delhi on May 12 - buddha purnima and june 6 - Eid-ul-Adha.

Government Holiday: Since Good friday is a gazetted holiday in the public sector, all government offices including central government offices, state government offices, post offices, and municipal and departmental offices will be closed. It is also considered the last major government holiday in April.

 Holidays in April: Since april marks the beginning of the new financial year, there are many important holidays. They are: Good friday - april 18, ram Navami - april 10, Eid-ul-Fitr - april 22 (May change based on the position of the moon and the arrangements of the moon).
