India has taken a number of tough diplomatic and strategic retaliatory actions against pakistan, which it accuses of supporting cross-border terrorism, following the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 people dead.  The Resistance Front, a division of the outlawed Pakistani terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, subsequently claimed responsibility for the attack, which was directed at tourists in the Baisaran Valley. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged to find and punish all terrorists and their supporters, calling the massacre a direct attack on India's peace and advancement.  "India will track down, apprehend, and punish all terrorists and those who support them."  We'll go to any lengths to find them.  In a forceful statement from Bihar, the prime minister declared, "Terrorism will never break India's spirit." 

Indus Water Treaty Suspended
The 1960 Indus Waters Treaty was immediately suspended by India.  According to the administration, the suspension will last until pakistan ceases to support cross-border terrorism in a credible and permanent manner.
 
 Attari's integrated checkpoint closure
Bilateral travel was stopped when india closed the Integrated Check Post at Attari.  Before May 1, only people who have already crossed over and have legitimate endorsements are permitted to return.
 
Pakistan's SAARC visa exemption has been revoked.
The SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) for citizens of pakistan was terminated by India.  SVES visa holders in india were given 48 hours to depart when existing visas were revoked.


Persona non grata was declared by military advisors.
The Pakistani High Commission's defense, naval, and air advisors in New delhi have been placed on persona non grata and given a week to depart the nation.  Additionally, india said that its corresponding defense personnel will no longer be stationed in Islamabad.
 
Reduction in the number of diplomatic personnel
As part of a reciprocal diplomatic scaling down, the number of indian and Pakistani High Commissions will be lowered from 55 to 30 by May 1.  


All visa services for citizens of pakistan are suspended.
With immediate effect, india halted all visa services for citizens of Pakistan. With the exception of individuals with medical visas, who are permitted to stay until april 29, all Pakistani nationals were instructed to depart india by april 27.
 
Reducing the ceremonial spectacle during the Attari Retreat Ceremony
The ceremonial retreat show at Attari, Hussainiwala, and Sadki in punjab has been cut back by the Border Security Force (BSF).  The gates will stay closed throughout the event, and the guards' ceremonial handshake has been halted.  According to the BSF, the action demonstrates India's grave worries about cross-border aggression and reaffirms the incompatibility of provocation and peace.
