Zeba Afroz, a Muslim teacher, was suspended from a government primary school in the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh after she posted on social media about the hate campaign against Himanshi Narwal, a survivor of the pahalgam terrorist assault, who had asked people not to target Muslims and Kashmiris.

According to a report on maktoobmedia.com, officials suspended the assistant teacher at the Maloghat, Chopan, primary school for sharing "objectionable" content on her facebook page. Zeba Afroz seems to have been standing up for Narwal, the widow of a Navy officer killed at pahalgam, who has faced criticism from the public and right-wing trolling for her appeal for peace instead of violence.

Himanshi seemed to take a stand against the larger hate campaign that followed the attack with his message, which emphasized the need for justice and an urge not to blame Muslims or Kashmiris in the wake of the terrorism tragedy.

Many people read her remarks as a call for togetherness and a rejection of collective responsibility, which appeared desperately needed in the wake of anti-Muslim hate crimes and occurrences targeting Kashmiris in other parts of India.

Using the phrase "disgusting and low-level thinking" to describe the campaign against Himanshi Narwal, Zeba Afroz expressed her severe displeasure of the targeted hate campaign.  Given that the Navy widow's request for justice and peace has been greeted with blatant prejudice, she presented the backlash against Narwal as unfair and damaging.
