The wife of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was killed in the pahalgam terror attack on april 22, Himanshi Narwal, praised the indian Air Force's Operation Sindoor strike on terror camps in pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied kashmir (POK), calling it a "befitting reply" to those who killed 26 people.

"Our forces and the Modi government have sent a strong message to the terrorists and their handlers," Himanshi said following the operation.  People on the other side of the border are now aware of the suffering we went through and what 26 families went through. Himanshi said she begged the attackers to spare them on the day of the ambush.  "I informed them that my wedding had only been six days prior.  I begged for their forgiveness.  In response, the terrorists said, "Ask Modi for that."  And our army and Modi ji have provided them with the solution today," she stated.

"The retaliation for the pahalgam attack is a source of joy.  However, there is also a great deal of sadness because Vinay and the other 26 are no longer with us," Himanshi continued. Himanshi said her comments were misinterpreted, citing previous criticism she received for calling for Hindu-Muslim reconciliation and requesting assistance for Kashmiris shortly after her husband's passing.

"The way my statements were misconstrued and the derogatory language used against me caused me pain.  I am a courageous soldier's wife.  In pahalgam, I resisted the attack for two hours by myself.  There were twenty-six other sisters and women present, so I wasn't alone.  "We hoped the army and the government would recognize our suffering," she said.

"That is exactly what today's strike has done.  Every Indian's pride has been restored," she continued.
