Young girls are still being married off at a young age in various regions of the world. On the other hand, many women in some nations are opting not to be married at all. For instance, a handful of women in south korea have made the public decision to remain unmarried. They feel that getting married takes away their personal freedom and entails too many obligations. Some of them also claim that they avoid marriage because they feel uncomfortable due to men's increasingly aggressive conduct.

Let's examine some Muslim nations where a startlingly high percentage of women are still single and the reasons behind this.

Which Muslim Country Has The Most Unmarried Women?
Approximately 25 million women over 24 are still single, according to a previous study that covered the whole gulf region.  Some of these women have never been married and are even older than 35.

According to a survey, egypt has the largest population of these women, with over 9 million, or nearly one-third of the total.  Women who have never married and are older than the typical marriageable age are referred to as "spinsters" a lot.  Algeria, which has almost 4 million unmarried women, comes after Egypt.  There are roughly 200,000 in yemen and about 3 million in Iraq. In Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Tunisia, for example, there are about 150,000 unmarried women. This information was taken from a 2010 report that was published by the Kuwaiti daily Alrai.

These countries are also on the list
The report also noted that there are around 70,000 unmarried women in syria and 45,000 in Lebanon.  It also noted a shift in Jordanian marriage patterns, with women marrying at an average age of 32 instead of 30.

Why are so many women not getting married?
In these nations, women are choosing not to get married for a variety of reasons:

• Higher Education: The number of women attending colleges and universities is steadily increasing.  Their goal is to complete their school before considering marriage.

•  Career First: Before starting a family, many women wish to advance their jobs and achieve financial independence. Before getting married, they would rather have a secure career and life.

•  Increasing marriage Costs: Getting married is quite costly in many Muslim nations. Families are expected to spend a lot of money on wedding parties, gifts, dowries, and other expenses. Some ladies just don't want to bear the burden of these expenses, which can be rather high.

To put it briefly, women are making their own decisions depending on their own objectives, financial situation, and level of education.  Many people no longer view marriage as the only option or as their top priority.
