Indian prime minister Narendra Modi, who is on a five-nation tour to brazil, was given a ceremonial and grand welcome with 114 horses in the Brazilian capital Brasilia after attending the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian President Lula da Silva welcomed PM Modi at the entrance of the Alvorada Palace. prime minister Modi began his five-nation tour on July 2. He concluded his visit in ghana and Trinidad and Tobago before reaching Brazil. prime minister Modi is set to hold important talks with Brazilian President Lula de Silva, and various agreements are expected to be signed between the two countries.
This is prime minister Modi's fourth visit to Brazil. Earlier, he had visited brazil for the first time in July 2014. He had subsequently visited brazil to attend the BRICS Summit in 2019 and the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro in november last year. Expressing his happiness at meeting Chilean President Gabriel Porrich Bond during the BRICS Summit, prime minister Modi had posted on his X social media page, saying, "India-Chile friendship is getting stronger and stronger."


Prime minister Modi will also be presented with Brazil's highest award during this visit. Following the BRICS summit, prime minister Modi's visit is considered significant in further strengthening bilateral relations with Brazil.
