The karnataka government has accused the royal challengers Bangalore (RCB) team management of being responsible for the stampede that took place outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on june 4. 11 people died and more than 50 were injured in this horrific incident. The karnataka government had investigated the incident. Now, on the orders of the karnataka High Court, the state government has released its status report regarding the incident. According to the report, after winning the IPL final, the RCB management, along with its event management company dna Networks Private Limited and the karnataka State cricket Association (KSCA), decided to hold a spontaneous victory celebration without informing the police in advance and without obtaining the necessary permissions. According to the report of the spontaneous announcement without permission, at around 6.30 pm on june 3, KSCA CEO Subendu Ghosh, on behalf of dna Entertainment, informed the Cubbon Park police that RCB would hold a victory rally if the team won.
However, the police rejected the request due to insufficient information about the expected crowd size and arrangements for it, and the request was made at very short notice. However, defying the ban, the RCB management posted an announcement on its social media pages at 7.01 am on june 4 about the victory procession and celebration. This included a video of the team's star player, Virat Kohli, saying that he wanted to celebrate the victory with the Bengaluru fans. The posts went viral on the internet and attracted lakhs of fans. The lack of planning and the crowding led to over three lakh fans thronging the Chinnaswamy Stadium and surrounding areas as the celebration was declared free of cost. At 3.14 pm, the RCB management suddenly announced that free passes would be given at specific entrance gates.
This caused confusion and tension among the fans and led to a stampede. The government has pointed out in its report that the main reason for the tragic incident was the lack of adequate planning and coordination. The stampede occurred due to the failure of the event organizers to control the crowd and the delay in opening the entrance gates.  A first information report has been registered in connection with the incident, and a judicial inquiry has been ordered. The government has also announced financial assistance to the families of the victims. The investigation into the allegations against the RCB management in this matter is in its final stages.
