The whatsapp app, which has become a part of our daily lives, experienced a sudden outage last night on July 24, 2025, at around 11 pm. The outage left countless users unable to send messages and access the app. The website Downdetector, which tracks service outages, had received over a thousand complaints by 11:20 PM. According to Downdetector, 85 percent of affected users reported problems sending messages. Additionally, 13 percent experienced problems accessing the app. As of 11:19 PM, there were 1,186 service issues reported on the site. Some users also reported server connection issues. The sudden outage was widely discussed on social media, with many sharing their experiences using hashtags like #WhatsAppDown.
However, the problem was short-lived. At around 11:29 PM, the number of complaints quickly decreased to 94, and the service returned to normal. The company has not yet released any official statement on the cause of the outage. However, such temporary outages are common in large-scale services like WhatsApp.
