Substances:


1/four cup toor dal (split pigeon peas), washed and cooked


2 medium tomatoes, chopped


1 tablespoon tamarind paste or lemon-sized tamarind soaked in warm water


1 teaspoon mustard seeds


1 teaspoon cumin seeds


2 dried pink chilies


1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder


2 teaspoons black peppercorns


2 cloves garlic (non-obligatory)


A few curry leaves


2 teaspoons oil or ghee


Sparkling coriander leaves for garnish


Salt to taste


Three cups water


Instructions:


Strain prepare dinner toor dal until gentle and mash it nicely.


Soak tamarind in warm water and extract the juice.
