Anti-Terrorism Action: ATS Raids Suspected Terrorist Dr. Syed’s Home, Recovers Ricin raw Material

ATS Operation and Arrests

The gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) conducted a major raid at the hyderabad residence of Dr. ahmed Mohiuddin Syed, who was recently arrested in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into a ricin chemical poisoning terror plot.

During the raid, the ATS recovered chemicals and raw materials suspected to be used in preparing ricin, a highly toxic biological agent.

Simultaneous searches were carried out at the homes of two other suspects arrested in Uttar Pradesh.

Findings from the Raid

ATS officials confirmed that chemical substances and raw materials were seized from Dr. Syed’s house.

However, no incriminating evidence directly linking Dr. Syed to previous terror acts has been found so far.

Authorities stated that no proven connection exists between Dr. Syed and the other doctors arrested in cases related to Delhi car bombings or the white-collar terror module.

Links to Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP)

According to the ATS, the arrested suspects form part of a suspected terrorist gang with links to the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP).

Dr. Syed is alleged to have been preparing ricin poison under the guidance of an ISKP-linked handler or “operator.”

Recovered Items

From the arrested individuals, the ATS seized:

Two Glock pistols

One Beretta pistol

30 cartridges

Four liters of castor oil (used in ricin production)

The other two accused were identified as azad Suleman Shaikh and Mohammed Suhail Mohammed Salim.

Ongoing Investigation

The ATS continues to probe potential links between the suspects and international terror networks.

Officials are analyzing the recovered materials to confirm if they were indeed intended for ricin manufacture and to trace the source of their procurement.
