Statement at Political event in Thirumangalam
Chief minister of tamil Nadu, M. K. stalin, stated that the bharatiya janata party (BJP) could remove Edappadi K. Palaniswami from the General Secretary position of the All india Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), similar to what happened to nitish kumar in Bihar.
He made this statement while speaking at an event held in Thirumangalam, where members of the faction led by O. Panneerselvam joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
Reference to Political Developments in Bihar
During his speech, M. K. stalin referred to political developments involving nitish kumar in Bihar. He suggested that alliances with the bharatiya janata party could eventually lead to political instability or leadership changes within allied parties.
By drawing this comparison, he claimed that a similar situation could occur within the All india Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, potentially affecting the leadership of Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
OPS Supporters Join DMK
The event in Thirumangalam also witnessed several supporters from the faction associated with O. Panneerselvam joining the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. The chief minister welcomed them and stated that more political workers from other parties were showing interest in joining the DMK.
He said the party would continue to strengthen its base by welcoming leaders and cadres who support the DMK’s ideology and development agenda.
Political Implications
The remarks by M. K. stalin come amid increasing political competition in tamil Nadu ahead of the upcoming elections. His comments were seen as a criticism of the alliance between the bharatiya janata party and the All india Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
Political observers believe such statements highlight the growing rivalry between major political alliances in the state as parties prepare for the next electoral battle.
