Chennai: The tamil Nadu government has issued appointment orders for 50 transgender individuals to join the Village Protection Force (Oor Kaaval Padai). This initiative aims to promote inclusivity and empower the transgender community by providing them meaningful roles in public service.
The newly appointed members have received specialized training to perform responsibilities such as managing crowd control during temple festivals and other public events, ensuring safety, and assisting local authorities in maintaining law and order in villages.
