Tandoori fish Tikka is a classic indian appetizer where succulent pieces of fish are marinated in aromatic spices and grilled to perfection. This dish is flavorful, slightly smoky, and perfect as a starter or a side for a wholesome meal.

Ingredients:

· 500 grams fish fillets (preferably boneless, like salmon, kingfish, or cod)

· 3 tablespoons yogurt (thick curd)

· 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste

· 1 tablespoon lemon juice

· 1 teaspoon red chili powder

· 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

· 1 teaspoon garam masala

· 1 teaspoon cumin powder

· 1 teaspoon coriander powder

· 1 tablespoon mustard oil (optional for authentic flavor)

· Salt, to taste

· 1 teaspoon chaat masala (for garnish)

· Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)

· Lemon wedges, for serving

· Skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Fish:
Wash the fish fillets gently and pat them dry. Cut the fillets into medium-sized cubes, ensuring they are uniform so that they cook evenly.

2. Make the Marinade:
In a bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, mustard oil, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth paste.

3. Marinate the Fish:
Add the fish cubes to the marinade and coat them evenly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours. For a deeper flavor, marinate overnight.

4. Prepare for Grilling:
Preheat your oven or grill to 200°C (392°F). Thread the marinated fish onto skewers carefully to avoid breaking the pieces.

5. Cook the Fish:
Place the skewers on a baking tray lined with foil or grill them on a barbecue. Cook for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway through. For a slightly charred finish, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.

6. Serve:
Remove the fish tikka from the skewers and sprinkle with chaat masala. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and lemon wedges. Serve hot with green chutney or a yogurt dip.

Tips:

· Avoid overcooking the fish; it should be tender and flaky.

· Adjust chili powder according to your spice preference.

· Mustard oil adds authenticity but can be omitted if unavailable.

Tandoori fish Tikka is perfect for parties, family dinners, or as a flavorful snack with evening tea. Its smoky aroma and rich spices make it irresistible.
