On thursday five bangladesh nationals were taken into custody by the cops on rape charges. The group included a woman from the same nation. The group of people were arrested in bengaluru in connection with the brutal assault and gangrape of a woman in Ramamurthy Nagar, off Old madras Road.
Other than raping the young girl, the rapists also recorded a video of the assault and put it on social media. The video has gone viral in northeast India. This led the assam police to issue photos of the five accused. They also issued a handsome reward for those who provide information about the crime.
The police took to twitter and shared the images of the 5 culprits and wrote, "These images are of 5 culprits who are seen brutally torturing & violating a young girl in a viral video. The time or place of this incident is not clear. Anyone with information regarding this crime or the criminals may please contact us. They will be rewarded handsomely."
The accused were identified as Sagar, 23, Mohammed Babu Sahik, 30, Ridoy Babo, 25, all residents of bengaluru, and Hakil, 23, a resident of hyderabad and the woman, whose identity police did not reveal.
bengaluru police said that the crime took place last week. Following the assault, the survivor fled to a neighbouring state and a police team was rushed to bring her back to the city.
