The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of home Affairs (MHA), has announced the recruitment for 394 junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Tech vacancies. The salary for the JIO-II position ranges from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 (Level 4), alongside benefits provided by the central government. The vacancies include 157 for the Unreserved category (UR), 32 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 117 for Other backward classes (OBC), 60 for Scheduled Castes (SC), and 28 for scheduled tribes (ST).

Eligibility Criteria:


Candidates must be aged between 18 and 27, with a relaxation of up to 5 years for SC, st, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, and other categories as per MHA regulations. Applicants need a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics, or a Bachelor’s in Computer Applications from a recognized institution. Those with diplomas in related fields are also eligible. Note that the IB junior Officer position is deemed unsuitable for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), and such candidates are advised against applying.


Exam Pattern:


The selection process consists of three stages: Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III. Tier I is an online multiple-choice exam lasting 2 hours and worth 100 marks, with 75% of questions related to the candidate’s field of study and 25% assessing general mental ability. Qualified candidates will proceed to Tier II, which includes a practical or skill test worth 30 marks, followed by a personality test in Tier III.
