Overview of the Incident
Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor recently suffered an injury while shooting for her upcoming film “Eetha.”
The actress, known for her active presence on social media, had just begun filming for the project when the incident occurred.
The mishap led to a temporary pause in the film’s production schedule.
How the Injury Happened
According to a Mid Day report, Shraddha was filming a Lavani dance sequence, a traditional Maharashtrian dance known for its energetic, fast-paced movements and strong rhythmic beats.
The song, composed by Ajay–Atul, required Shraddha to perform in a vibrant Nauvari sari, complemented by heavy jewelry and a traditional waist belt.
To portray the character of young Vithabai, a celebrated Tamasha artist, Shraddha reportedly gained over 15 kilograms, reflecting her dedication to the role.
During one of the high-energy steps, she accidentally shifted her full weight onto her left foot, lost her balance, and ended up with a fractured toe.
Immediate Response and Filming Adjustments
After the injury, director Laxman Utekar decided to halt the shoot for safety and recovery.
Despite her discomfort, Shraddha suggested continuing production by shifting temporarily to close-up sequences.
The team resumed shooting in Mud Island, Mumbai, where she filmed a few emotional scenes that did not require strenuous movement.
Worsening Pain and Final Pause
After several days of shooting, the pain in Shraddha’s foot reportedly intensified, making it difficult for her to continue.
As a result, the production team made the decision to pause filming completely.
The cast and crew are expected to reassemble in two weeks, allowing the actress time to recover fully before resuming intensive scenes.
About the Film “Eetha”
“Eetha” is based on the life of Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, a legendary dancer, actor, and iconic Tamasha performer.
Shraddha’s transformative role aims to bring Vithabai’s powerful journey to the big screen with authenticity and emotional depth.
