The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially postponed the SSC Constable (General Duty) Recruitment Examination 2026, which was earlier scheduled to begin on February 23, 2026 for various Central Armed police Forces (CAPFs), secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (GD) in assam Rifles.
📌 What’s the Update?
- The Computer Based Test (CBT) for the SSC Constable (GD) positions in the 2026 recruitment cycle has been deferred until further notice.
- The Commission has not yet announced the revised dates — candidates will need to wait for a future notification on the official SSC website (ssc.gov.in).
- Admit cards originally expected before the exam will now be issued 2–3 days before the rescheduled date, once it is announced.
🧑💼 Examination Details
- The recruitment drive covers a total of 25,487 vacancies for GD Constable and Rifleman (GD) posts across multiple forces.
- Candidates who successfully clear the CBT will proceed to Physical Efficiency Tests (PET), Physical Standards Tests (PST), medical examination, and document verification as part of the selection process.
- SSC will also release city intimation slips 8–10 days before the exam once new dates are finalized.
🔄 Slot Booking Change
Unlike some SSC examinations, there will be no self‑slot booking option for this recruitment cycle. Instead, SSC will automatically allocate exam cities and timings to candidates once the exam schedule is decided.
📍 What Candidates Should Do Next
- Regularly check the official SSC website for the latest updates on the rescheduled date, admit card release, and related notifications.
- Continue exam preparation, as fresh dates are expected to be announced soon.
