Toxic and White foams in yamuna river

Delhi air pollution is still in the Severe category with an AQI of 430. Toxic foams are seen floating on the yamuna river near Kalindi Kunj in Delhi. delhi people woke up to a cloud of smoke and foggy morning continuously following 3rd day. The water supplies in delhi is also been affected due to the Ammonia levels in the river. The particulate matter in the air was 318 and the capital city officials have told, it would reduce in the coming day soon. The wind blows stronger making it disperse pollutants in the air. An AQI of 0-50 is good, 51-100 is satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor,301-400 very poor, and above 401 are considered very severe categories. Now, delhi falls under the very severe category and causing the yamuna river contaminated with toxic foams.


                 Health advisors have advised shutting the Schools for a few days and controlling vehicles moving around Delhi. This should at least be followed for the next two weeks. The hazardous foam is all due to high Ammonia and phosphate levels which are discharged from industrial waste into the river. The Ammonia content present in the river is the presence of air pollutants which is around 2.2ppm on weekends.
