Demand to issue red Corner Notice against Khalistani Gurpatwant Pannu rejected, UAPA criticized

Interpol has refused to issue a red corner notice against Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the head of the Khalistani separatist organization Sikh for Justice (SJF). This is the second time that Interpol has rejected the indian government's request in this matter. Interpol says that indian officials could not provide enough information on this matter.

However, Interpol has admitted that Pannu is a "high-profile Sikh separatist" and SJF is a group that demands an independent Khalistan. 

Despite this, Interpol maintains that its activities have a clear political purpose, which cannot be the subject of a red Corner Notice according to Interpol's constitution.
