On a plot of property in the jubilee hills Housing Society here, the telangana high court on tuesday forbade telugu actor K. chiranjeevi from engaging in any construction work. The high court ordered the status quo on the litigated land in an interim order. The court took up hearing on a plea filed by J. Srikant Babu and others alleging that 595 square yard land meant for public usage was sold to chiranjeevi by jubilee hills Organization.

The petitioner claimed that the society sold the land to the megastar in contravention of the law because the Greater hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) did not seize custody of the property. The actor started building on the property, the court was also informed. The court ordered the ghmc and jubilee hills Housing Society to submit counteraffidavits after hearing the arguments. The hearing was postponed until april 25.
