Actor karthi was last seen on screen in the christmas release Thambi, helmed by jeethu joseph and co-starring Jyothika, sathyaraj and the movie received mixed reviews ending as an average outing and following this, karthi has started working on the historical Ponniyin Selvan.
 
 
Vikram, aishwarya Rai, trisha, , jayam ravi, aishwarya Lekshmi, vikram Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Kishore, Rahman, Jayaram, Lal, and Ashwin are confirmed to be part of the cast in Ponniyin Selvan. karthi also has wrapped the movie sultan helmed by Remo fame Bakkiyaraj Kannan and co-starring Sandalwood babe rashmika mandanna and has also signed a movie helmed by Adangamaru karthik Thangavel and with Irumbuthrai and hero maker PS Mithran which are in pipeline.
 
 
The latest buzz is that after these projects karthi is set to join hands with rural movie maker Muthaiah for the second time post their rural entertainer Komban. and this movie is expected to be bankrolled by Suriya's 2D  Entertainment and an official confirmation is awaited in this regard.
