To start with, shilpa and akshay met on the sets of Main Khiladi Tu Anari. They enjoyed spending time with each other and were one of the much talked about couples in Bollywood. They did multiple movies together and at the time of ‘Dhadkan’ shilpa noticed that akshay was two-timing with her.

As soon as she realized she said break up. In an interview, talking about her breakup with Akshay, she said, "I never imagined that he could two-time me, and that too all along our relationship".

She said that "Akshay Kumar used me and conveniently dropped me after he found someone else. Nevertheless, the duo now shares a healthy relationship with each other and often shares the stage together.
