The Om Raut-directed film has been mired in controversy ever since its first trailer was released online. Even after hitting the silver screens, the film received negative reviews and was criticized for being a wrong adaptation of the indian epic 'Ramayana'.
Prabhas' stardom has saved him from a huge financial loss,
not only that the film's dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir and its makers are embroiled in legal cases. However, despite the negativity surrounding the film, Adipurush has collected 390 crores worldwide. If seen, Adipurush has saved the filmmakers from a huge financial loss due to the stardom of Prabhas.

Despite the worldwide gross collection of 390 crores, the film also earned more than 100 crores in telugu share as well. That is, the film has made a total collection of 490 crores. Out of which about 150 crores have been earned from the hindi version alone. It has collected Rs 286 crore in india alone.
