She portrayed Mahesh Babu's mother in the telugu film Sreemanthudu. She is best known for her work in the films bharateeyudu and others.

Sukanya debunked the rumours on social media, stating she was "shocked and surprised" to learn about them. She said, "I am not getting married again," in a video message. I am content with my life as it is right now. I am content with my family, friends, and profession and don't need anything else. She also made light of the prospect of having kids in the future. She said, "I'll have to ask them if they want to call me 'mom' or 'grandma' if I do get married again and have kids.
