Sonu Nigam: 'I am irritated by those who spread hatred in the name of language and religion', the singer said on FIR lodged in kannada controversy

Sonu Nigam Bangalore Concert Controversy: Sonu Nigam has got into legal trouble regarding the controversy during his concert in Bangalore. Now the singer has reacted to the FIR lodged against him. Know what sonu nigam said. Bollywood's veteran singer sonu nigam is surrounded by troubles these days. An FIR has been lodged against him in Bangalore accusing him of insulting kannada language and culture. Sonu is accused that during his recent Bangalore concert, when a youth demanded to sing a kannada song, the singer called it a threat and linked it to the pahalgam attack. An FIR has been registered against sonu nigam on this matter. Now an official statement has been issued by sonu nigam on this FIR. In which he has said that he respects every language and culture.

The statement issued by sonu nigam said, “I have given an unprecedented love to the language, culture, music, musicians, the state and the people. I have given more respect to my kannada songs than to songs in other languages including Hindi. I have more than an hour of kannada songs, which I have also prepared for every concert I have held in Karnataka. However, I am not a young boy who will tolerate insults from anyone. I am 51 years old, in the second half of my life and I have every right to feel bad that a person as young as my son is directly threatening me in the name of language in front of thousands of people. That too in kannadawhich is my second language in terms of my work. That too after my first song in a concert.” Further mentioning the incident in his statement, sonu nigam said, “His people were embarrassed by the act of that person and were asking him to keep quiet. I told him very politely and lovingly that the show had just started, this was my first song and I would not disappoint them. But he was hell-bent on creating a ruckus and threatening me wildly. You tell me who is guilty in this?”

Further in his clarification, the singer said, “Being a patriot, I hate all those people who try to spread hatred in the name of language, caste, or religion, especially after what happened in Pahalgam. I had to make them understand and I did so. Thousands of students and teachers hailed me for this. The matter ended and I sang kannada for more than an hour. All this is on social media.” Sonu Nigam further said, "I leave it to the people of karnataka to decide who is guilty here. I am ready to accept your decision silently. I fully respect and trust the law agencies and police of Karnataka. I am ready to provide whatever help is asked of me."

This incident happened during Sonu Nigam's concert at East Point college of Engineering and technology in Bengaluru. The Kannada community got angry when Sonu linked the youth's demand for a kannada song with threats and Pahalgam. Pro-Kannada organizations called it an insult to their language and culture and lodged a police complaint against him. After this, an FIR was registered against him at Avalahalli police station in Bengaluru on Saturday.
