Actor Daya shankar Pandey has been seen playing the character of Chalu Pandey in the popular tv show 'Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' for a long time. Before this, he has been a part of many great bollywood films. These include Aamir Khan's 'Lagaan', ajay Devgan's 'Gangajal' and Shahrukh Khan's 'Swades'. Recently Daya has revealed that once he lost his job because of Aamir Khan. While talking on the friday Talkies YouTube channel, Daya shankar Pandey recently recalled his struggling days. During this, he told that in those days he got a job in the film Akele Hum Akele Tum. But aamir khan felt that he deserved better than this and he got him packed up.

He got the role of a junior artist in Akele Hum Akele Tum

Daya shankar Pandey said- 'I did not have work. I was struggling with financial crisis. My family refused to support me and I thought I will earn money myself. I asked the assistant director (AD) of the film Akele Hum Akele Tum to give me any suitable role and so he got me 12 days of work in that film and I was getting 2000 rupees per day.'

Daya used to stay away from aamir khan on the set

The 'Tarak Mehta' actor further told that aamir khan knew him from before and also considered him a good actor. Daya said- 'I used to try to stay away from Aamir sir so that he does not see me, but one day he saw me and called me and asked what I was doing there. When I told that I was working as a junior artist, he told Mansoor Khan and AD - he is a very good actor, do not ruin him.'

'He packed me up'

Daya said- 'I did not want to hear this praise because I wanted to go after doing my daily work. At that time aamir khan seemed like a villain to me. He packed me up.' The actor further told that later aamir khan cast him in Lagaan and also recommended him for a role in Ghulam.
