Anurag Basu on Working Hours: There has been a debate about the shift hours of actors for a long time. After Deepika Padukone's statement, everyone is giving their opinion on this. Now, director anurag basu has also given his reaction on this matter.
The discussion of long work shifts in the bollywood film industry is in full swing these days. Recently, a debate broke out over deepika Padukone's demand for an 8-hour work shift. Deepika's statement was considered correct by many celebrities and actors, including names like Sonakshi Sinha, Neha Dhupia, and Vikrant Massey. Now, Bollywood's famous director anurag basu has also given his opinion on this issue.
When Anurag Basu was asked a question about Deepika's demand for an 8-hour work shift, he said, 'I am also not interested in working for long hours. My actors never complain about work stress or long hours. So I completely agree with Deepika's statement. This is a film, and I never give my actors a chance to complain during work.'
While talking to 'Firstpost' about his working style, Anurag said, 'I want my actors to be happy on the set and understand their character well. That's why I don't give them much information before shooting, so that they can discover their character naturally. I have always found this method right.' Anurag believes that being happy on the set also improves the acting of actors and actresses.
Recently, there was a lot of discussion about deepika Padukone's film 'Spirit'. After Deepika's alleged dispute with the director of this film, sandeep Reddy Vanga, it was speculated that deepika had demanded 8-hour shifts during the shooting, a share in the film's profits, and not giving dialogues in Telugu. Disagreeing with these demands, the director later removed deepika from the film and cast tripti dimri in her place.
Anurag Basu is currently busy promoting his latest film 'Metro... These Days. The film is a spiritual sequel to Basu's 2007 film 'Life in a Metro'. The film stars Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, sara ali Khan, ali Fazal, and fatima sana shaikh in pivotal roles. The film depicts the complexities in the relationships of four couples against the backdrop of cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata.
