Petition by Major Sharma’s Parents
Parents allege that Dhurandhar draws directly from Major Sharma’s life and classified operations in Kashmir.
They claim Ranveer Singh’s character is inspired by their son.
The petition states that the filmmakers did not seek consent from the family or the indian Army.
It highlights media speculation linking the film to Major Sharma despite no verification from the makers.
The petition emphasizes that Major Sharma “is not a commercial commodity” and opposes fictionalising his service for profit.
Concerns Over National Security
The parents argue that the film compromises national security by replicating army strategies, procedures, and operational details.
They note the film was neither vetted by the army nor screened by the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI).

Aditya Dhar’s Clarification
Aditya Dhar clarified on X that the film is not based on Major Mohit Sharma’s life.
He assured that any future biopic would be made with full family consent and in a way that honours the officer’s legacy.
