Actor Celina Jaitly has publicly addressed the breakdown of her 15-year marriage with husband Peter Haag.
In a deeply personal social media post, she reflected on love, pain, survival, and the lessons she learned.
The post came months after she filed for divorce in november last year at Mumbai’s Andheri court.
Divorce Filing and Allegations
Celina filed for divorce, citing domestic violence and abuse, which shocked many fans.
The allegations stood in contrast to her earlier social media posts that often showed a happy family life.
The divorce petition seeks legal protection, financial maintenance, and custody of her children.
“The Truth Behind All beautiful Things”
Celina described her marriage as one “lived in letters of love, pain, and survival.”
She explained that writing became her voice when she felt unheard and silenced.
Initially, her letters were attempts to save the marriage—boosting her husband’s ego, showing loyalty, and healing emotional cracks.
Writing as Survival, Not Performance
Over time, her writing began reflecting the reality she was living through.
She wrote about abuse, denial of her voice, repeated silence, and constant blame.
Celina emphasized that public expressions of love do not cancel private suffering.
Key Lesson from the Marriage
Celina shared her biggest takeaway:
“You can’t change someone by loving them more. love can’t fix what’s already broken.”
She clarified that showing love publicly was a way to endure and survive, not proof that abuse did not exist.
Why people Stay in Painful Relationships
Celina addressed common misconceptions about violent marriages.
She said people stay due to hope, fear, responsibility, and love, not weakness.
According to her, these emotions often help individuals cope with and survive difficult situations.
Legal Developments and Property Dispute
Celina’s lawyer stated that Peter Haag filed for divorce in an Austrian court last year.
During this time, Celina allegedly discovered that Vienna properties were sold without her consent.
Haag is reportedly claiming that Celina has no right to shared properties and blaming her for the marital breakdown.
Financial Claims and Child Custody
Celina has sought:
₹10 lakh per month as maintenance
₹50 crore as compensation for alleged loss of income
Custody of her three children, currently living with Haag in Austria.
She has also requested the court to restrict Haag from entering their mumbai residence.
Family Background
Celina Jaitly and Peter Haag married in 2010.
They welcomed twin sons in 2012.
In 2017, they had another set of twins, one of whom tragically passed away due to a hypoplastic heart condition.
