The bollywood film "Yodha" starring siddharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, and Raashi Khanna, directed by newcomers Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha and produced by karan johar under the dharma productions banner, hit theaters on march 15. Despite receiving mixed responses from the audience, with positive reviews from bollywood critics, the film struggled at the box office with low collections.

The story revolves around Arun Katyal (played by siddharth Malhotra), who joins the Yodha task force inspired by his father. He leads a happy life with his wife Priyamvada Katyal (played by Raashi Khanna), a central government employee. However, Arun's life takes a dramatic turn when a mission he undertakes fails, resulting in the death of a scientist by terrorists.

Subsequently, Arun becomes involved in a hijacking situation while traveling from delhi to london as an air commando. The movie follows Arun's efforts to foil the terrorists' plans and save the passengers aboard the hijacked flight. While the film offers impressive aerial views, flight fight scenes, and twists, it fails to deliver a truly novel experience, with predictable scenes and a lack of gripping moments after the terrorists' identities are revealed.

Despite siddharth Malhotra's action-packed performance and Raashi Khanna's presence, their storyline is deemed routine. Disha Patani's special action role adds some surprise to the narrative. Other actors like kalki Bhama, Ronit Roy, Tanuj Virwani, and Sunny Hinduja also contribute to the ensemble cast. At the box office, "Yodha" struggled to make a significant impact, earning Rs. 4.25 crore on its opening day.

To attract audiences, theatres resorted to offering one plus one tickets from the second day onwards. However, facing stiff competition from "Shaitan," starring ajay Devgn, Jyothika, and R Madhavan, the film's performance remained modest. Despite this, there was a slight increase in footfalls during saturday evening shows in urban areas. The film's overall box office performance for the first weekend remains to be seen.
