Hafpor Julius Bjornsson had been declared as the strongest man in the world. The Iceland based personality, who weighs 200 kg and is 6ft 9 inches tall, has achieved the dream of his lifetime, after ending as the runner up for 2 years.
However, this year he achieved the WSM crown after extreme hard work and struggles. 29 year old Bjornsson is known for playing Gregor The Mountain Clegane in the extremely popular Game of Thrones TV Show. He had an easy victory at the event held at Manila,Philippines, as he entered the qualifiers.
Bjornsson later also won the
overhead press and loading race in the finale of the grand event. He
scored 51.5 points, 6.5 more than his competitor Mateusz Kieliszkowski, while
also scoring 5.5 more than Brian Shaw, a 4 times title winner. Bjornsson had
been competing without much success though finishing in top 3 since 2012.
