The candidates of the TMC appeared to be fascinating with expectations for a tight competition and the party will easily form its third consecutive government in the state if current trends persist.

The ruling TMC appears poised to retain power in West bengal, with the party leading in 202 of 292 constituencies, while the rival bjp was leading in 77, according to trends available for 284 of 292 constituencies.
In tamil Nadu, the DMK led 118 electoral divisions, the minimum necessary for a simple majority in the assembly of the 234-member, and its allies in 19 and given the group a comfortable lead as votes were counted in the State.
