At a time when Trinamool congress, the ruling party of West bengal is making steps to enter into national politics for the 2024 Parliamentary election, the leaders of the party unanimously named State Chief Miniser and the party supremo mamta Banerjee as the chairperson of the TMC parliamentary party.

Addressing a press conference, TMC’s rajya sabha mp Derek O’ Brien said that the Banerjee’s experience, insight and vision will help the party.

“Mamata didi already has the experience, vision, insights for guiding the Trinamool Congress’ parliamentary party. She guided us earlier also. Didi had already been 7 times mp and 3 times chief minister of West bengal and so we have unanimously named her as the chairman,” said Derek.

According to election analysts, such a decision by the party leaders will add on a post to mamata and now by visiting in delhi the TMC Supremo can chalk out strategies for the next parliamentary election. Notably, the bengal chief minister will be visiting the national capital on July 26 and  will be meeting congress Chief sonia gandhi and prime minister Narendra Modi as per her schedule.

Prior to mamata banerjee TMC mp Sudip Bandhopadhyay was the chairman of TMC’s parliamentary party.
