Before the 2019 election, YS jagan of the ycp made a complete ban on alcohol in the state one of his primary campaign promises. If elected, he promised to make ap alcohol-free. Well, jagan has been in power for well over three and a half years now. The deputy cm has urged officials to ensure that state liquor revenue is increased, even without calling for a ban on alcohol. deputy cm of ap, Narayanaswamy, had a lengthy conversation regarding the dropping excise revenue in some districts during his most recent encounter with authorities.

"From april to November, there was a decrease in alcohol sales in Vijayanagaram, Vizag, Kadapa, and guntur compared to last year. You should all try to increase liquor sales in these regions in the upcoming months to make up for any deficiencies, the deputy cm advised. Additionally, in order to ensure that the government receives its fair share, Narayanaswamy instructed officials to set up committees to keep an eye on any irregularities in the sale of alcohol.

Internet users are already criticising the ycp government, claiming that despite promising to outlaw alcohol in the state before 2019, the party is now only concerned with increasing booze sales since assuming power.
