Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah has said that the much awaited scheme of Rs.2000 per month to housewives will come into effect from august 15.

Addressing reporters after the cabinet meeting, chief minister Siddaramaiah said: “The scheme to provide 200 units of free electricity through Kruha jyothi scheme will start from July 1. However, customers will have to settle the existing dues.

Under the Kruha lakshmi scheme, Rs 2000 monthly payment to housewives will be implemented from august 15. Applications for this will be issued from june 15 to July 15. Applicants must mention Aadhaar and bank account details.

Under the Anna Bhagya scheme, 10 kg of rice will be provided free of cost from July 1 to those below the poverty line.

The scheme to provide free bus travel to women will come into effect from june 11. But women can avail this facility only within the state of Karnataka. This offer is not available on Inter-State karnataka government Bus. Similarly, this offer is not available in AC and luxury buses. This offer is applicable on regular fare buses only. 50 percent of bus seats will be reserved for men. women can travel free with concession on the remaining seats.

Under the youth Fund Scheme, the unemployed youth, i.e. those who completed their graduation during 2022-2023, will be provided financial support for a maximum period of 24 months till they get a job. chief minister Siddaramaiah said that financial assistance will be provided to the extent of Rs.3000 per month for graduates and Rs.1500 per month for postgraduates.

During the karnataka assembly elections, the congress party made 5 assurance promises. That is, if congress comes to power, housewives will be given Rs.2 thousand every month. Rs 3,000 for unemployed graduates and Rs 1,500 for diploma holders for 2 years. Free travel by government bus will be allowed to Makaluru. It announced 5 guaranteed promises of 200 units of electricity to all households and 10 kg of rice per month for free.

A printed warranty card detailing this was distributed door to door. It was then assured that these promises would be fulfilled in the meeting of the Prime Minister.

Even after 10 days of congress coming to power, there were reports that the people were dissatisfied as 5 promises were not fulfilled. In particular, the refusal of women traveling in government buses to take tickets leads to arguments between the conductor and the passengers. The related video went viral on social media.

In this case, chief minister Siddaramaiah held a series of consultations with the Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary, senior officials and economists for the last 2 days regarding the execution of free schemes. Following this, chief minister Siddaramaiah has made an important announcement regarding five promises.
