Gujarat has seen flooding and a lot of rain since the monsoon started on june 27. More rains were predicted by the india Meteorological Department for the region. On the other hand, the intensity is anticipated to decline starting on July 1. While Saurashtra and North gujarat might expect moderate rains, Dang, Valsad, surat, Tapi, and Dadranagar Haveli are expected to receive heavy rain. An ANI report states that heavy rain is also predicted for Ahmedabad. An orange signal was issued for the Navsari and Valsad districts in south gujarat with the onset of the monsoon.

Several areas of south gujarat had significant rainfall during the last 36 hours, and further rains are anticipated over the next two days, according to authorities. According to them, the torrential rains in south Gujarat's Valsad, surat, Navsari, and Tapi districts disrupted daily life and hampered traffic flow by flooding low-lying regions and closing several rural roads. Following a brief morning shower, some roads in ahmedabad city were also covered in knee-deep water, forcing people to wade through it to get where they needed to go.

According to a statement from the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), Pardi Taluka in the Valsad district of south gujarat experienced up to 182 mm of rain in the previous 36 hours ending at 6 am on Thursday. After Pardi, Valsad taluka in Valsad district (177 mm), Palsana taluka in surat (171 mm), Valod taluka in Tapi (166 mm), Khergam in Navsari district (157 mm), Dharampur in Valsad (157 mm), Kamrej in surat (152 mm), and Umargam in Valsad (143 mm) came in order.
