CBI to probe Viral video of nude parade of women in Manipur..?

CBI has now handed over the investigation into the viral video of two women being paraded naked and sexually assaulted by a mob during the Manipur violence. The Ministry of home Affairs has taken this decision after several days of uproar in the parliament and outrage throughout the country. The incident took place on May 4. Recently, a video of a horrific incident in Manipur went viral on social media. This viral video shook the entire nation. In a viral video, two women are being paraded naked by a mob of men. According to the FIR registered with the police, the mob gang-raped the women. The incident took place on May 4 in Kangpokpi district, about 35 kilometers from the state capital Imphal. Among the victims, her brother and father were killed in front of a young woman. She was gang-raped. After the video went viral, there was an uproar throughout the country. This video outraged the whole country. Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh's resignation was demanded. Given the outrage, the Manipur police immediately became active. The action started without delay. By late evening the next day, more than half a dozen suspected accused were arrested.
The supreme court has taken cognizance of the case of two women being paraded naked in Manipur (Manipur video). CJI DY Chandrachud expressed concern over the parade of naked women on the road and gave an ultimatum to the government to take action. Chief Justice of India, Justice DY Chandrachud said, “If the government does not take action, we will do it. It's time for the government to come forward and take action. This is unacceptable in a constitutional democracy. This is a very disturbing incident. Using women as a tool in communal fighting is the biggest insult to the Constitution. State and Central Govt to state what action has been taken. Nahi toh steps will be taken by the court. We will hear the matter on July 28.”
There is a deadlock in parliament over the Manipur incident. The five days of the Monsoon Session have been spent discussing the issue and demanding PM Modi's statement. The opposition wants the Manipur issue to be discussed in parliament and before that PM Modi will come and make a statement in Parliament. Opposition MPs are raising slogans about this demand for five days and parliament is being adjourned for a while. The opposition has strategically moved a no-confidence motion to discuss this issue. The Speaker has accepted the no-confidence motion. Before the discussion, now major actions have been initiated in Anan Panan under which the Ministry of home Affairs has handed over the case to the CBI.
