WCD minister Atishi has written to the Chief Secretary, citing media reports on complaints of sexual harassment against a WCD (Women and Child Development Department) officer in the government accused of repeatedly raping a minor in Delhi. Atishi questioned in the letter that, how was such an officer allowed to work in the
Women and Child Development Department?
Atishi further wrote that, if there were repeated complaints of sexual harassment against this officer then why no
action was taken? Atishi raised serious questions on the process of disposal of complaints and disciplinary action
against officers. Atishi further asked, which senior officers were aware of the repeated offenses by this WCD
officer? Atishi has directed the Chief Secretary to submit a detailed report on the multiple sexual harassment
complaints against the WCD officer.
