It was a time of broken hearts and unfulfilled promises. Only water was being promised, prayed for, and sorely needed. seemandhra rulers had cruelly let the area down, although fully understanding that even a trickle of it would mean much for Palamuru. The region's water share was looted, especially during the leadership of the last two key actors, N chandrababu naidu and YS Rajasekhar Reddy.

Naidu promised an immediate turnaround for palamuru when he took office in 1995. people put their expectations in him since he adopted the neighbourhood, promising them of his commitment to its growth. But other than how people perceived him, nothing altered.

The water-starved palamuru did not get any of the money he had borrowed from the World bank for supplying water to the drought-prone areas. The jurala project was not given the attention it deserved. Despite being intended to have a gross storage capacity of 11.84 TMC, it seldom managed to hold more than 8 TMC due to unchecked siltation. The formal approval for the survey for the projected Kalwakurthy project came in 1997, but the administrative sanction took a further two years.

A year before he left office, in 2003, the project's first brick was placed. Due to the project's redesigned design, its yield was decreased to just 25 TMC. Due to negligence, a number of additional elevators are now inoperable. The cost of the lifts' electricity was borne by the farmers. Farmers who committed suicide owing to their demise were assumed to have died from illness and family strife.

Even worse was seen during the YS Rajasekhar reddy administration that followed. He had a key role in the gradual enlargement of the Pothyreddypadu Head Regulator, which is regarded as Telangana's worst nightmare. Much to the chagrin of the farmers in palamuru, it had its water drawl capacity increased from 11,000 cusecs to 44,000 cusecs and then to 70,000 cusecs. To enable future drawls up to 88,000 cusecs, the canal was further expanded. In order to encourage greater drawl, the ap government has already begun lining the canal system.

The number of drawls from the back waters of srisailam for SRBC (19 tmc), telugu Ganga (44 tmc), and HLC (10 tmc) was rising every year. In Mahabubnagar, the looting that went on at the expense of palamuru gave people heartburn. Ten telangana projects were mentioned by ysr as part of the Jalayagnam initiative. However, none of them were finished. Only ap projects were eligible for the funding that was provided.

K Chandrashekhar Rao, the leader of the Statehood movement, extensively revealed the bias telangana experienced at the hands of Seemandhra's rulers in the former State. He campaigned against the injustice done to telangana as a whole and to the southern section of the area in particular. He was given the duty of redesigning the palamuru Ranga reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme as the new State's Chief Minister. The first project idea in the undivided State was not backed by a guaranteed water source.

For the PRLIS, the CWC and other authorities were anticipated to approve it with the help of the availability of over 90 tmc of promised water. Under his direction and leadership, the State was able to secure the necessary permissions from the central authorities despite many obstacles. For the people of telangana, the completion of the palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme on september 16 will be a magnificent dream realised.
