Since there are no host matches for the upcoming ODI world cup in hyderabad, cricket fans there have already been denied the opportunity to see the indian team in action. As a result, the warm-up game between pakistan and new zealand, which was supposed to take place at the rajiv gandhi International cricket Stadium on september 29 will now take place behind closed doors.

Due to insufficient security for the match, spectators were not allowed to see the first warm-up game. It is challenging for the officials to set up security when holidays like Ganesh Visarjan and milad-un-nabi fall around the same time. Fans who had already purchased match tickets, however, remained in the dark. However, the bcci (Board of Control for cricket in India) is planning to order the ticketing partner Bookmyshow to issue a refund.

The officer in charge of organising the match in hyderabad responded that, as of Tuesday, they hadn't gotten any specific instructions from the bcci addressing the situation. Earlier, the ICC changed the schedule and gave hyderabad two back-to-back matches (Pakistan vs. sri lanka on october 10 and new zealand vs. the netherlands on october 9). The city police have requested that the game be postponed and have informed the hyderabad cricket Association (HCA) that they are unable to guarantee security on consecutive days. However, the ICC and bcci turned down their plea because the world cup schedule had already been altered once.
