On wednesday night, a stranger unexpectedly entered Khairatabad Chintal Basthi, slithering out of the nala that passes through their neighborhood. Children in Chintal Basthi discovered a juvenile crocodile near a nala that was about three feet long, and they immediately informed the village elders. A crew arrived at the scene and informed the forest department authorities as soon as the news reached the local police.

A crew from the forest department's anti-poaching unit was dispatched right away to the scene in order to capture the crocodile and move it to a zoo park. In order to prevent bystanders from congregating there, the police had roped off the area. On the last day, tens of thousands of pilgrims would visit Khairatabad Bada Ganesh to get darshan.

Khairatabad is always grabbing the headlines and recently people thronged the Ganesh pandal for prasadam. As part of the current Chaturthi festivities, a resident of Langer Houz gave a laddu weighing around 2,000 kg to Khairatabad Ganesh on september 20. Despite the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee's efforts to keep the date of laddu distribution a secret, hundreds of people descended onto the pandal as soon as word of the distribution circulated, creating a stampede-like atmosphere there. Fortunately, the distribution proceeded smoothly. To transport the laddu prasadam, they utilised tissue paper, handkerchiefs, tiffin boxes, and polythene coverings. Some even held it in their hands since they were at a loss for other options.
