Minister K. J. George said that the government land or private land within 500 meters of the substation will be leased and a solar plant will be installed at that place to generate electricity and provide electricity to farmers' pump sets. Energy minister KJ George said that it has been decided to generate 3000 megawatts of solar power in 400 substations of the state. Today (Wednesday) minister K.J.George visited the site for the solar plant at Dasenahalli in Gandasi Hobli of Araseikere taluk of the district and said that the government land or private land within 500 meters of the substation will be leased and a solar plant will be installed at that place to generate electricity and provide electricity to the farmers' pump sets.


There are 34 lakh irrigation pump sets in our state. The minister said that 4 lakh pump sets have been applied for illegally. Recently, the rains have reduced and the demand for electricity has increased. This year, the peak hour has started in september itself. He said that we have started the production of thermal power so that there is no shortage at present.

There are 24,926 thousand pump sets in Araseikere taluk in which 3932 farmers have applied for illegal regularization by paying money and 2180 pump sets have been regularized. He said 1750 applications are pending.

1661 pump sets are within 500 meters of substation. The minister said that we will make a solar plant nearby to generate electricity and if the government land is not available, if private individuals voluntarily come forward to give land, then a lease will be taken and the solar plant will be installed. He said that we will take action to provide electricity to all the farmers.


The minister said that we will take the farmers' land on lease and implement the plan, and steps will be taken to provide electricity to the farmers for seven hours during the day. At this time, mla K.M. Sivalingegowda and Cheska officials were present.
