Maharashtra assembly Speaker rahul Narvekar on tuesday said he needs to find out which development is

considered unconstitutional in the context of petitions seeking disqualification of rebel shiv sena MLAs. Delay

in taking decision on disqualification petitions maharashtra Chief minister Eknath Shinde and shiv sena MLAs

loyal to him have come under scrutiny from the supreme court, which on friday came down heavily on the state

Assembly Speaker, saying the proceedings cannot be a joke and that Cannot fail his orders.

What did rahul Narvekar say?

Speaking to reporters on tuesday, Narvekar said, The speaker's side will be presented before the Supreme

Court. Soon we will try to find out what should be called illegal or unconstitutional. Only after that further steps

can be taken. “Once the hearing before the supreme court is completed, there will be a clear picture on how to

proceed in this matter.”

Targeted at Sanjay Raut

Asked about shiv sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut's allegations against him regarding the disqualification

petitions, Narvekar said, “I don't want to respond to his criticism. They do not understand the proceedings of the

Legislature. His comments against the house could be seen as an attempt to influence the Speaker's decision. In

June last year, the rebellion led by Shinde led to a split in shiv sena and the fall of the uddhav Thackeray-led

Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
