
Reportedly from december 18, the purchase price of cow milk will increase from Rs.35 to Rs.38 per liter and the purchase price of buffalo milk will increase from Rs.44 to Rs.47 per liter. The purchase price of milk has been increased by Rs 3 per litre. The tamil Nadu government has also informed that it is increasing the purchase price of milk in the interests of tamil Nadu milk producers. The purchase price of milk was increased from 05.11.2022 last year. The purchase price of cow milk has been increased to Rs.35 per liter and the purchase price of buffalo milk has been increased to Rs.44 per liter.
Meanwhile due to the increase in the price of inputs for milk production and the increase in production cost, the milk producers are demanding to increase the purchase price of milk. The main objective of milk cooperatives is to get fair purchase price to milk producers and to sell quality milk at fair price to consumers. Therefore, it was urged that the tamil Nadu government should consider their demand and raise the purchase price of milk. In this case, accepting the demand of milk producers, tamil Nadu chief minister M. K. stalin has ordered that from 18.12.2023, Rs. 3 per liter will be given as an incentive for the purchase price of milk through Aavin Company.
According to this, the purchase price of cow milk will increase from Rs.35 to Rs.38 per liter and the purchase price of buffalo milk will increase from Rs.44 to Rs.47 per liter from december 18. According to the tamil Nadu government, around 4 lakh milk producers will benefit from this. The company is procuring an average of 32.98 lakh liters of milk per day this financial year through 3.87 lakh milk producers. It sells about 30 lakh liters of milk to the consumers every day across tamil Nadu.
The Aavin Company is providing compound fodder and veterinary medical facilities to the milk producers' cattle through the district Milk Producers' Cooperative Unions.
