Lok Sabha elections are to be held in himachal pradesh in the seventh and last phase. There are by-elections in six assembly constituencies along with four lok sabha seats in the state. The by-election is also to be held on the Sujanpur seat which comes under the hamirpur district. bharatiya janata party has made Rajinder Rana its candidate from Sujanpur. Rana has left congress and joined the BJP. congress can field Arun Thakur against Rajinder Rana. Arun Thakur is counted among the leaders closest to chief minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.
Meanwhile, a meeting of congress was held in Sujanpur block on Tuesday. Himachal congress Working President Chandrashekhar was specially invited to this meeting. Before this meeting, Arun Thakur did a big road show. In this roadshow, Arun Thakur demonstrated great strength and defeated Rajinder Rana. Although he did not openly talk about contesting the elections, an effort was made to create an atmosphere completely in favor of him contesting the elections.
