

EC also geared up for preparation of bihar elections!
The election commission of india (ECI) has started training of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in view of the upcoming bihar assembly elections. The election commission of india issued a press note giving this information. According to the press note issued by the ECI, the election commission of india has started training for Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for the first time keeping in mind the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar.
Two-day training for BLA
About 280 BLAs associated with 10 recognized political parties of bihar are participating in this two-day training organized at india International Institute for Democracy and election Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi. Chief election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. vivek Joshi addressed the agents in this training program.
This training was decided in the conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) held on march 4, 2025. Emphasizing the important role of BLAs in the election process, the Commission said that this training program will help them to better discharge their responsibilities under the Representation of the people Act 1950 and 1951, Voter Registration Rules 1960, Conduct of election Rules 1961 and ECI guidelines.
The BLAs were informed about their appointment, role and responsibilities as per the legal framework. In the training program, BLAs were introduced to various aspects of the electoral process, including preparation, updating and revision of voter lists and related forms and formats.
Training on Voter List Publication
BLAs appointed by recognized political parties play an important role in ensuring error-free voter lists as per the provisions of the Representation of the people Act 1950. Apart from this, they were also trained on the use of the provisions of first and second appeal under Section 24 (A) and 24 (B) of the Representation of the people Act 1950 in case of dissatisfaction after publication of the final voter list.
