Eastern UP's biggest night shelter will be built!
The poor of Purvanchal and the patients coming from far-flung areas for treatment and their attendants will no longer have the trouble of spending the night. chief minister Yogi Adityanath will lay the foundation stone of the largest night shelter of eastern Uttar Pradesh in Gorakhpur AIIMS on april 18. This night shelter will have a capacity of 500 people and will be constructed at a cost of about Rs 44 crore from the CSR fund of Power Grid Corporation of India.
It is worth noting that Gorakhpur has become a major center of health services for eastern UP, bordering bihar and Nepal. After the establishment of Gorakhpur AIIMS, thousands of patients and their relatives come here daily for treatment. Many of these people are financially weak and do not get a place to stay during treatment in the hospital. Keeping such people in mind, this big night shelter is being prepared.
After becoming the chief minister, chief minister Yogi Adityanath has constantly emphasized on strengthening the system of night shelters. On many occasions, he himself has inspected the night shelters and reviewed the arrangements. At present, there are a total of 14 night shelters in the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation area, which have arrangements for 667 people to stay. Out of these, 13 night shelters are operated by the Municipal Corporation while one night shelter is operated by the airport Authority.
Des deepak Verma, Chairman of the Governing Council of AIIMS Gorakhpur, said that seeing the need for a night shelter, the chief minister himself had proposed its construction. Patients and their relatives coming to AIIMS will no longer be forced to spend the night on the road or in the open field. Along with better arrangements for staying in the night shelter, necessary facilities will also be provided.
This night shelter will be the largest night shelter not only in Gorakhpur but in the entire Purvanchal. Its direct benefit will be given to those poor families who come from far and wide for treatment but do not get accommodation facilities. This step of the chief minister will strengthen the thinking of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas' and 'Gareeb Kalyan' on the ground.
