Meanwhile, he expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of tourism in Kashmir. He said, "Very few tourists are coming to us in this summer season. Tourism has come to a complete standstill. Our priority at the moment is the amarnath Yatra. We want this yatra to be completed peacefully and safely and all the devotees should remain healthy and safe." He has instructed the officials that there should be no shortage of both security and facilities, so that this religious journey can be made smooth.
When journalists asked questions on the recent statement of Pakistani prime minister Shahbaz Sharif, omar abdullah clearly said that this question does not come under the purview of the state government. He said, “This question is related to the Ministry of External Affairs and only the central government can answer it.”
